Exhibition: Hispanic Research Center Collection - This exhibit features serigraphs and lithographs with themes common in Chicano/a art, such as family, community, immigration, biculture, spirituality, and cultural symbols. The artists in the exhibit represent five of the states in the Southwestern United States with large and growing Latina/o populations and vibrant arts communities. Their styles are diverse – from primitive to highly realistic to abstract – and their backgrounds are as diverse as their art. Some are self-taught while others hold terminal degrees in their art form from academic institutions.
