The focus of the group is to improve community and support for contemporary fiber artists living and working in Arizona.
The conceptual focus of this exhibition is the intersection of people and places. Topographical maps, travel and journeys, or a shift from one perspective to another (or one state of mind to another) provide inspiration for the works within the show. Repeated patterns and objects often come into play as obsessions and compulsions, connections to time, history, place, and social commentary. We live our lives surrounded by textiles: from birth onwards covered by and engaged with clothing, upholstery, and fibrous surfaces.
